Hello There!

Sep 15, 2008 -- 9:00am

>Hope you had a great weekend. Summer was in full swing with 86 on Saturday and 90 yesterday. Friday night, Connie and I hung out with the crew over at Merighi's Savoy Inn of East Vineland. Tom Jr., Dee, Sammy, Marilyn, Kim and Tiffany. They do a thing called Friday Night Flashback inside the Bistro Lounge, with music from the 60's-70's and 80's. Saturday night, we were off to my favorite spot, "Benny the Bum's" in the Stadium Holiday Inn of South Philly. My buddy, Bob Pantano (98.1 WOGL) hosts the Saturday Night Dance Party. Bob, Debbie, Tony, Greg and the whole crew. It's now heard all over the jersey shore on our sister stations "96.1 WTTH...The Touch" and 93.1 WEZW. Sounds great on the radio, but it's a whole lot of fun in person. Check it out sometime!

>Repeat after me...E-A-G-L-E-S...EAGLES! I got a funny feeling something big's gonna happen in Texas tonight and I'm not talkin' 'bout Ike. Our Eagles are takin' on "Americas Team", TO, Jessica, Tony, Carrie and the Jimmy Jones circus. My fellow Eagle fans all over South Jersey, get ready for a big win. Eagles pull the upset...ya ready...Eagles-27 / Cowboys-17. Are you ready for some football!

>Unbelievable...our "Fightin Phils" pulled off a big weekend sweep over the Brewers (4 games) and are now tied for a playoff spot with Milwaukee, with only 2 weeks left to play. Also, are just 1 game behind the Mets. Took my 14-year old daughter (Brianna) to the game yesterday and had a blast. What a beautiful day at the ballpark and what a big win! Hopefully they get to the playoffs, my Daughter Lindsey promised me a trip up here from school in North Carolina to go with us to a game. Go Phils!!!

How's it going?

>Good luck to all the area high school football teams (especially my Blue Devils and Wildcats of Hammonton). Can't wait to pick up the Press for the football preview section and check it out. Here come Fridays and Saturdays filled with HS football. Great time of the year!

>If you're one of the 300,000 voters in New Jersey who received a form saying "you're not registered", call the following number. The NJ Division of Elections @ 1-877-658-6837. This is a very important election coming up, every vote counts. Make it happen!

>Good luck to my friend Sal & Kathy Velardi's daughter, Kim of Hammonton. Kim is the HHS girls soccer coach. She's winning her battle with leukemia and is back to coaching. They open their season on Friday. Kim good luck and God bless, stay positive, stay strong and keep smiling!

>Congrats to Michelle Cappelluti who was named the new superintendant of schools in Hamilton Township. Michelle began her teaching career at the Davies school in 1988. Congrats and good luck!

>Nice job to Chris Carminucci and his staff at the Atlantic City Surf baseball team. Although they lost to Quebec in the playoffs, it was a really neat season over there at the stadium. Big crowds, good baseball and big fun. Thank you for a great summer!

>Galloway Township did a beautiful job with the new Church of the Assumption on Pitney road. At the opening services, over 1,500 people attended. Absolutely beautiful!

>There's talk of the SJTA raising expressway tolls in 2009. The .50c booths would go to 75 cents and the $2.00 booth would go to 3 dollars. It could bring close to $205 million dollars for expressway and airport improvements. Plus, keep in mind they haven't been raised in 10 years. I'm cool with that. I love traveling the expressway, it makes things really easy for a lot of people!

>Congrats to Jeff Vassar and his staff over at the Atlantic City Convention and Visitors Authority for their new online website. It really does showcase all the great things about the city and the landmarks. There truly is a new look and a new feel to the city and the website brings it out. It makes things really easy for people visiting our city and businesses. Check it out @ www.atlanticcitynj.com!

>Atta boy to the Casinos for the August revenue gain. An increase of $468 million in 2008, compared to $465 in 2007. It's a positive sign and in this economy at the present time, any increase will do. You need one positive thing to happen first to begin a turnaround. Here's to a positive September!

>The 2008 HS Cross-Country season is about to begin and we have two of the best runners in the state, if not the country, right here in South Jersey. Jill Smith of Southern Regional HS and Brett Johnson of Ocean City HS. Both earned the "Runner of the Year" honors for 2007 by the Press of AC. They return as HS Seniors in 2008 and are poised to have another big year. Go get em!

>This week is a somber reflective week, with the 7th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Be sure to take time and remember, the close to 3,000 Americans we lost on that day in a numbing tragedy. New Jersey lost 700 people on that terrible day. Some really nice ceremonial events are planned. Among the many, include; 6pm @ Sunset Beach in Cape May Point, 6:30p @ Riverfront Park in Millville, 6:30p @ Cove Pavillion in Cape May, 7p @ City Hall steps in Vineland, 7p @ Memorial Park in Mays Landing and 7p @ Patriot Lake in Galloway Township. We will never forget!

"I'll talk to you today @ 3.....just you n me.....in the place to be, in your radio and on 95.1 WAYV."
