Dead Man’s Wife & Girlfriend Run Dueling Obituaries in Same Paper

A 55-year-old man from New Jersey who died of lung cancer last week has been lovingly remembered in two nearly identical obituaries that ran next to each other in The Press of Atlantic City on Friday–with one obit posted by his wife and the second by his girlfriend. “The wife wanted it one way, and the girlfriend wanted it another way,“ a man from Greenidge Funeral Homes told last week, adding that both parties apparently knew about the other’s obituary plans. In his wife’s obit, Leroy “Blast“ Bill Black was noted as being “survived by his loving wife, Bearetta Harrison Black,“ while the second obit says he’s survived by “long-tome [sic] girlfriend Princess Hall.“
