  • Facebook, along with Instagram, suffered its longest-ever outage on Wednesday and Thursday, according to multiple media outlets, remaining offline for 17 hours for some users. To add insult to injury, the social-media behemoth had to turn to a rival platform–Twitter–to keep frustrated users informed about whatever progress was being made on the fix-it front. “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps,” Facebook tweeted on Wednesday morning. “We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.” As of Thursday morning, Reuters reports that the site was still down for only a handful of users.
