They broke up nearly a year ago, but it appears that Katy Perry and John Mayer may be officially back on. Earlier this month, they were seen having dinner in L.A., but late last week, the two turned up together again at a Hollywood hot spot, where they “canoodled” over dinner, according to a new report, and then double dated with friends.
“The New York Post’s Page Six“ reports that Thursday night, Katy and John showed up at the Tower Bar in West Hollywood “arm in arm,” according to a witness, who added, “The whole room literally fell silent.” Apparently, the two used to eat at Tower Bar quite often when they were dating.
The witness added, “Even Dimitri Dimitrov — Hollywood’s most famous maitre d’, who has seen everything — and Sunset Tower owner Jeff Klein both stopped mid-sentence when John and Katy arrived…[it was] as if they wanted to announce to everyone in Hollywood they are back together.”
The fact that Katy and John managed to stun the room is pretty impressive, because some of the other stars who were there at the same time included Naomi Campbell, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon and Clint Eastwood.
The two then proceeded to “canoodle over dinner before astonished fellow diners,” says Page Six.
Then, on Saturday night, according to People magazine, Katy and John went on a double date with their mutual friends: Girls star Allison Williams and her fiance, College Humor’s Ricky Van Veen. According to the magazine, Katy and Allison arrived at the Chateau Marmont in Hollywood first, and then Ricky and John followed; when John arrived, he kissed Katy hello. The two also held hands at the dinner table, and were spotted hand-in-hand in the lobby afterwards.
Katy and John dated on and off since 2012, but broke up in late February of 2014. He co-wrote a bonus track on her current album, Prism, and inspired a few more.
